Water that we use readily at every moment of the day and for many purposes is a matter of life and death for one in ten people. According to international reports, at least 800 million people do not have access to clean water. The water crisis, which is still among the biggest problems of today, shows itself in many different ways around the world.

What is the Situation Around the World?

  • In Africa, mothers and daughters have to carry water to their homes every day from surface waters, which are kilometers away from where they live. This water, which they use for drinking and cleaning in their homes, is very harmful to human health and is considered as the first cause of child deaths today.
  • In Sub-Saharan countries, where the temperature does not fall below 30 C throughout the year, frequent droughts can deplete water wells. Villages with 100-150 households have to bring water from long distances or migrate if a new water well is not dug.
  • In countries of war and crisis, people seek refuge in large groups in areas with no water source or water infrastructure. The most urgent need in these regions is clean water.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Zumra develops water solutions for different regions around the world. We build water stations and water purifying facilities; we open water wells; and for some regions we deliver water tanks for urgent clean water needs. Throughout the year, we send our teams to service key components like filters, piping, electrical, pumps & generators for these water stations and wells to continue serving clean water to many communities in the countries of need. We provide clean water to those in dire need in Yemen, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Somalia, Nigeria, Gaza, Pakistan, Rohingya and Lebanon.
